When you let your life speak and donate to someone’s new beginning, you give someone — a man, a woman, a family– the chance to start again.
Every day, we watch lives go from hopeless to hopeful, from desperate to determined, from confused to confident.
We watch empowerment in action. You can too.
Watch Shea’s New Beginning
Shea was found behind a dumpster nearly 9 months ago. The young mother battled addiction for a lifetime, an addiction that started at the tender of age of 13. The day she was found, she had overdosed and was brought back to life.
The doctors told her that her life almost ended. “God had other plans,” Shea says with a smile.
She went to a rehab program and got sober, but she needed a place to get stronger, to regain her independence and become the mother God intends her to be.
She came to New Beginnings and it is changing her.
Watch Shawn Pay It Forward
You can read about Shawn’s entrance into the program. When he lost his wife of more than 20 years, he did not know how to grieve. So he drank.
He got help, but he knew that there was more work to do. So he found New Beginnings.
He met with our counselor, worked with our case manager, and was matched with a mentor. He attended classes and he attended AA. After 14 weeks, he began looking for a job and found one.
He graduated after maintaining the job for at least a month.
Since then, he’s moved out of our program into his own apartment. But Shawn believes he still has work to do. He calls this a “Pay-It-Forward” program.
Thank you for investing in lives like Shea and Shawn. Thanks to your faithful financial gifts, these neighbors in need get a second chance. Thanks to you, they can start again.
