She once told me that she knew she wanted to work at New Beginnings once she graduated because she saw firsthand that staff members were able to pour into the residents in the program and make a difference. She wanted to be a part of that.
One Monday morning at 9:30, half an hour before the store opened, she and I were standing in the store and a resident came in. He said he was having a rough morning and needed a Ms. Linda hug to get him through the next couple of hours.
A minute later another resident ran in with pictures of her visit with her son from that Saturday; the first person she wanted to show was Linda.
It was beautiful.”
