Before a resident is honored as a graduate of the homeless rehabilitation program at New Beginnings, they must achieve 5 requirements. We do not offer a place to sleep; we offer a place to change.
- They must complete 14 weeks of classes
Every person who graduates from our residential program attends morning classes each weekday. They study life skills, addiction prevention, Christian principles and more. These 2-hour classes each day are both practical and at times, demanding. - They must participate in work therapy
On-the-job training in our thrift stores each afternoon allows us to observe work ethic and skillsets. This also allows us to provide an accurate job referral when the client begins the process of a job search. - They meet regularly with our onsite counselor
Homelessness causes trauma. Our licensed Mental Health counselor meets with each client to address individual concerns and challenges. Together they ask God for emotional healing. Together, they work on change. - They create personal improvement plans
Each client meets with our case manager to create personal improvement plans. Once they complete the goals, they set new ones with another plan. Success includes achieving goals. - Graduate must find and keep a job
Clients practice job interviews and resume writing. They only graduate after they’ve been hired and kept a job for at least one month. We help with the process, but each client can graduate knowing they earned their new life.
