Looking for accessible ways to empower people to overcome poverty and homelessness? Here are 4 ways you can make a difference.
1. FILL A GROCERY BAG
New Beginnings provides emergency food at our 3 social service offices and our weekly Saturday morning outreaches. We distributed an average of 300-500 bags of non-perishable food every month.
Drop off non-perishable donations at any of our thrift stores. Help us keep up with the high demand for emergency food.
For specific food lists and items most needed, please visit www.nbcfl.org/grocery.
2. SHOP WITH A MISSION
Donate, shop or volunteer at one of our thrift stores in Clermont or Kissimmee. Our Thrift Stores have great deals on quality furniture, appliances, clothing, decor, and more. No matter your style or taste, we have chic new finds, vintage collections and the perfect item for your next DIY project. Stop in for a great deal while supporting individuals and families in need.
For free pick-up of large donations, call our Logistics Coordinator at 352.988.9510. Find the store nearest you.
Every Sunday we email a list of prayer requests to a team of people committed to praying. As you bring specific names and requests to the attention of God, you can know you are part of the solution.
To receive these requests and join the team, register your email at www.nbcfl.org/pray
4. INVEST IN A LIFE
For the first 4 months of a client’s stay with us in the homeless rehabilitation program, we provide:
- a home
- life skill classes
- counseling and case management
All of this is provided at no charge to the resident.
Consider a monthly financial investment in a life of $100/month or some other amount. Visit www.nbcfl.org/donate
You don’t have to turn away from homelessness any more. New Beginnings will stand alongside you and empower you to empower others.
Together we’ll refuse to be silenced by the problems of poverty and the shame of homelessness.
